Shopping On a Budget

Hello Everyone! Kerri here,

So we all know what its like to get paid but have to shop on a budget. That was me yesterday.
Now I don't know about you but I have an, OCD shall we call it, about making a list.
I do a little shopping around online, keeping in my budget of course, and produce a list. I start off by the shops and taking down everything I want to buy, including the price. I come up with the total then go onto the next shop, and so on...

List ready, I set off.

My first stop was of course Lush.
Now whenever I go in there I always find it hard to come out without blowing all of my money in there, but luckily I had Jordan with me.

I purchased three things in total (so not enough) and even got a free Lush mag (score!)
The first thing I bought was D'Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap.
I didn't buy this for me personally (probably will use it still) but I got for Jordan to try out when he shaves.

The second thing I brought, was Coalface Facial Soap.

I brought this because I have to tackle with pores. I've tried so many face creams and facial scrubs but not really any seem to be making a difference. I came across this by doing some research. I read a lot of reviews before I was won over by it. Containing coal and sandalwood its very good for your skin, exfoliating and also leaving it soft and scented. So fingers crossed that it works.

My final purchase was not an intended one. I had a little spare money so I thought I'd treat myself to a bath bomb (such a sucker for a bath bomb).
Dragon's Egg.

This is up with my favorites. Containing popping candy it makes your bath fizz and pop, along with swirling colors and its sweet scent its hard not to favor it.

Once I had finished in Lush, I intended to go to Superdrug but when I went inside there wasn't really much choice. It was kind of like last pickings, being the end of the day and all.
Not to panic! I decided to take a little detour to Tesco to try and save my list.

Tesco delivered.

My first purchase was BarryM's Flawless Matte Finish Foundation in Ivory.

So there's a long story behind why I bought this - but I'll keep it short.
I don't wear foundation because I didn't like what it did to my skin when I used to wear it. I was looking online at BarryM  products (forgot to mention I'm a big BarryM enthusiast too) and I discovered that they did a foundation (which I obviously didn't know). I watched a few videos and reviews on it and I wanted to try it.

In addition to the foundation I brought BarryM's Flawless Matte Perfecting Powder.

I brought this as a final base coat to apply on top of my foundation, and to reduce any shine on my face.

My third buy was the So Eco Foundation Brush.

I love these brushes because they are all recycled and are all bio degradable. The packaging is also made from recycled materials, down to the little window, which is made from cornstarch. They are all so beautifully made and a soft touch to your skin. This is going to be added to my ever growing collection.

The last of my BarryM purchases are three nail paints.

The first is part of the Quick Dry range, in the color Pole Position. I like this range not just because of the pastel/summer colors, but simply because of the brushes.

The round shaped tip makes it easier to start from your cuticle and brush up. It gives it such a cleaner finish than the normal brushes.

The second nail paint is part of the Gelly range, in the color Mustard. I bought this one simply because I love the color Mustard.

The third and final one is just normal nail paint, in the color Peach Melba. This is just another buy that I wanted simply for the color. I was also going to buy a peach lipstick to match it, but had a second thought.

Moving onto my last two products.
The first is Simple, Kind to Eyes Makeup Remover.

When I take my makeup off at the end of the day I usually use makeup remover wipes. I found these to leave my eyes dry and sometimes a little painful to touch, so I wanted to buy this because its perfect for sensitive skin and it doesn't take a lot of rubbing to remove my eye makeup.

My last purchase is Clean&Clear's Dual Action Moisturiser (oil free).

Once again I bought this because I have tried a lot of moisturizers and they didn't do a lot to my skin, apart from leaving it smooth. I have quite dry, sensitive skin and I wanted to test this out to see if it would help with my skin and blemishes. You want a good moisturizer to put on at the end of the day to not only know you're getting protection from it, but to also have amazing feeling skin!

Thank you for taking your time to read my blog, and I hope to see you guys on my next blog post.

Kerri x
